A Legacy 60 Years in the Making
Dear Mason Rugby Alumni,
Last year marked six decades since our club’s founding. This year, 2026, we officially celebrate 60 years of George Mason University Rugby.
While our history is long, our future is just beginning. After years of dedicated work behind the scenes, we are proud to announce the official launch of the George Mason Rugby Alumni Association (GMRAA).
Our Mission: Cementing the Legacy
The GMRAA was formed to bridge the gap between our storied past and our ambitious future. We have officially secured 501(c)(3) status, ensuring that your contributions to coaching and player development are tax-deductible and go directly toward building a premier program.
While a dedicated cadre of alumni stepped up to restart the club following the challenges of the COVID-19 years, we now need the full strength of our alumni brothers to scale.
This spring, Old Glory DC of Major League Rugby brings professional rugby to our alma mater as their home for training and matches. This provides a unique opportunity to elevate Mason Rugby onto the national stage.
How You Can Support Mason Rugby
We are seeking your expertise and energy in four key areas:
- Team Building: Help us bring our alumni home. We need volunteers to grow our network and help us find “lost” teammates from every era.
- Socials & Events: Help us celebrate our 60th Anniversary! We need help planning and organizing Homecoming events and local socials to get the “Old Boys” back together.
- Fundraising: Professional coaching requires a professional approach to funding. Let’s build a legacy through an endowment.
- Mentorship: Create pathways for current ruggers to achieve success long after they leave the pitch.
